I started my first art quilt in a surface design class in June 1998 and finished it in August. That year I made a total of 3 quilts. Now fast forward to 2013. On December 7, 2013, I made quilt number 1000! I have been making weekly quilts since June 2001 which has significantly boosted my numbers. The discipline of making sure I get into the studio at least once a week to create art has been very important to me. I wonder when I will hit the milestone of 2000 quilts?

The image above is of quilts number 1000 and 1001. They are both created with paint and relief prints. The one on the left is based on wisteria seed pods and the one on the right is a section of the print I have designed for this year's Christmas card.
